Chi fino a oggi ha conosciuto l'artista come sassofonista e astro nascente della scena impro jazz, rimarrà sorpreso da questo debutto, perché la giovane Zoh torna al suo primo strumento - la chitarra - e fa in conti con le sue origini e l'essere cresciuta a Kingsport in Tennessee, un luogo da cui non ha visto l'ora di scappare. Eyes Full affonda le radici nel folk degli Appalacchi con pezzi acustici, intensi e viscerali suonati con un impeto punk. Il grosso del disco presenta pezzi scorticati e rugginosi in cui la batteria è nelle mani di Jim White e la chitarra elettrica, spesso rumorosa come quelle dei Big Thief, è suonata da Kevin Hyland. E' un disco che pare uscire dal canzoniere dylaniano ma sottoposto a un rumoroso trattamento punk e che proietta l'artista nel firmamento dei nomi da seguire attentamente.
