La strana coppia. Lo straordinario BIll Frisell ed il latino Vinicius Cantuaria in un disco composto a quattro mani, i due chitarristi mischiano mestiere ed esperienza ed esplorano un mondo musicale completamente diverso. Sopratutto per Frisell l'album è un banco di prova per il suo eclettismo, mentre Cantuaria ( che aveva già avuto Bill ospite in alcuni dischi ) affina le sue corde. Vitale ed originale.

Corea è diventato molto attivo, ultimamente. Ha registrato un bellissimo disco in trio, in omaggio a Bill Evans, uno con una orchestra da camera ed un terzo in duo con Stefano Bollani. Anche qui si presenta in duo, con un altro pianista: Nicolas Economou, ma la registrazione è del 1982, pubblicata solo ora, quindi inedita. Si tratta di uno splendido concerto in cui i due pianisti eseguono musica classica, ma anche brani propri.

Henry "Razor”" Sharp e Billy "The Kid" McDonnen sono due pugili di Pittsburgh finiti sotto i riflettori dell'intera nazione a causa della loro accanita rivalità. Ai tempi d'oro ognuno di loro aveva vinto un match ma, nel 1983, alla vigilia del terzo e decisivo incontro, improvvisamente Razor aveva annunciato il suo ritiro, rifiutandosi di spiegare il perché, ma assestando un colpo definitivo alla carriera di entrambi. Trenta anni dopo il promoter di pugilato Dante Slate Jr., vedendo la possibilità di fare soldi, fa ai due boxers un'offerta che non possono rifiutare: tornare sul ring e regolare i conti una volta per tutte.
Performances inedite, registrate a Seattle, 1966-1967. Sul palco, oltre a Cannonball Adderley, ci sono Nat Adderley, Joe Zawinul, Victor Gaskin e Roy McCurdy. Eccellente package, incisione ottima. Reel Real Records Usa, contiene un booklet di 28 pagine.
