The Northern Belle sono un settetto dal suono limpido, tra country e folk, molto americano, sotto ogni punto di vista. Solo che i ragazzi, già al terzo album, sono norvegesi. Origine a parte, We Wither, We Bloom è un disco bello, brillante e pulito, nel più classico suono Americana.

Credits for songwriting are not shown on the release and were researched on various web sites, mainly SACEM (rights societey) and "Liste des chansons de Serge Gainsbourg" Wikipedia page. Also see review below. "Pauvre Lova" is based on the traditional South African song 'Umqokozo', and was adapted by Serge Gainsbourg. (Note that some releases of Miriam Makeba's recording of 'Umqokozo' credit Makeba as the author, but the song is a Xhosa folk tune popularized by Makeba)
