2 CD. Attesissimo, ecco il nuovo album di Keith Jarret, il pianista jazz più importante e venerato della scena attuale. Quaranta anni fa Jarrett ha esordito su ECM con l'album Facing You e poi ha bissato con il mitico The Koln Concert. Ora, dopo un breve tour in sudamerica, Jarrett pubblica l'ultimo dei concerti dati in Brasile, a Rio De Janeiro,di fronte ad una platea estasiata. Musica pura, creativa, geniale, con una serie di bis finali incredibili. Come il capolavoro Koln Concert, Rio è solo piano: e Jarrett mostra di non avere perso la grinta e la felice vena creativa, anzi è ancora in grado di darci dei dischi indimenticabili.
Molto prolifico nelle sue pubblicazioni, Cyrus Chestnut sta diventando rapidamente uno dei pianisti jazz più popolari sulla scena Americana. Accompagnato da Willie Jones III (drums), Freddie Hendrix (trumpet) e Dezron Douglas (bass), Chestnut mischia le sue composizioni con brani di altri. Molto bella la copertina, che richiama un vecchio disco Atlantic dei sessanta.

Il nuovo album dello straordinario chitarrista del Minnesota in cui si unisce con il vecchio compagno di mille avventure Marc Anderson, il quale si districa tra percussioni, gong e ben strutturati loop, e con il batterista JT Bates. Le 20 tracce dell'album suonano come un'estatica, quasi ieratiforme, suite sulla vicinanza di galassie, universi, mondi e persone in cui la musica più che comporsi, progressivamente succede. Il disco si compone di parchi baluginii di folgori elettriche, come se una parte della cifra stilistica di Jim Hall incontrasse le estetiche di Leo Kottke, Robbie Basho e Jack Rose, sviluppando il tutto alla maniera di Ustad Sultan Khan, che rappresenta una delle fonti ispirative del chitarrista americano.
