Band originaria della Florida che suona dell'alternative country mischiato a forti dosi di Americana, una spolverata di punk ma anche di southern rock. Il leader, Matt Burke, ha una bella voce e la band, che ha già diversi dischi alle spalle, viene spinta molto da NPR, la stazione radio americana più importante.

Sono passati sei anni anni da Restless Ones, il precedente lavoro dei Restless Bastards, uscito nel 2015. Prodotto da Kevin Ratterman (Strand Of Oaks, Jim James ), A Beautiful Life vede musicisti del calibro di Andrew Bird, Gregory Clifford (White Denim), Jesse Chandler (Mercury Rev); David Pulkingham (Patty Griffin) e Bo Koster (My Morning Jacket) coinvolti nel progetto.La band mischia rock, hard rock, psichedelia, folk rock, stillando idee e suoni da band come Byrds, Faces, Flaming Lips e Pink Floyd. Un cocktail di suoni intrigante.

Band descritta in modo trionfale, sia dalla critica che dal pubblico (incredbile, senza tempo, trionfale, splendida etc ) i Wilderness of Manitoba arrivano al loro quinto album, dopo essere stati fermi tre anni. Will Whitwham, leader della band e multi strumentista, è accompagnato da Victoria Carr (vocals and acoustic guitar ), Tavo Diez de Bonilla (bass and vocals, ) e Adam Balsam ( drums, vocals, guitar and keyboards.). Il suono della band che parte da un folk rock disteso, è poi rock classico, con evoluzioni stuilistiche differenziate. Una band dal suono vigoroso e classico al tempo stesso, dove la ballata è al centro dell'attenzione e le canzoni sono caratterizzate da forti forme melodiche. Personali, anche nel nome del gruppo.

Il tutto racchiuso in un box, corredato da un booklet corposo, che ci rivela il talento, fuori dalla band, di Peter Cetera.
