Il Belmont Mall Studio è lo studio di registrazione personale di John Mellencamp. Negli anni ottanta John ci ha registrato alcuni dei uoi dischi migliori: Scarecrow e The Lonesome Jubilee. Proprio in mezzo a questi due, nel 1987, assieme alla sua band ha inciso questo piccolo show, senza overdubs. Un concerto, trasmesso poi per radio, dove il coguaro esegue alcuni classici del suo repertorio, come Paper in Fire, Cherry Bomb, Small Town ( in versione acustica ), Pink Houses, R.O.C.K. In The U.S.A. ma anche delle cover curiose come Shama Lama Ding Dong, Happy Birthday, Walk Don't Run, In The Baggage Coach Ahead.
