Housed in a gatefold jacket with a glossy exterior. The jacket opens vertically to reveal the full Hieronymus Bosch painting "Hell", the third panel of "The Garden of Earthly Delights" c. 1490–1510.
The original album was recorded at De Lane Lea Studios, London during January - March 1969 and it was remastered in 2000 at Abbey Road Studios, London.
Initial copies came with a Vinyl Collector download card containing a code for an [url=https://www.discogs.com/release/12504342-Deep-Purple-Deep-Purple?redirected=true]MP3 version of the album[/url].
All runout details are hand etched. The faintly inscribed Optimal plating marks (e.g. '1V' & '1+') are mirrored.
