Splendido show acustico, tenuto da tre componenti di The Band, inciso nel 1985 nel mitico Lone Star Cafè di New York ( che putroppo ha chiuso i battenti ormai da molto tempo ). Come diverse altri pubblicazioni del genere, il materiale arriva direttamente dagli archivi di Rick Danko. Hudson, Danko e Manuel eseguono una bella serie di brani di The Band, scegliendo a gusto proprio. E scelgono bene, viste le belle versioni di Across The Great Divide, Stage Fright, The Shape I'm In, It Makes No Difference, Unfaithful Servant, 'Chest Fever. Non poteva certo mancare I Shall Be Released, di Bob Dylan. C'è anche la rilettura di Mystery Train, resa elebre da Elvis Presley. Solo Hudson è ancora tra noi, Manuel si è suicidato poco tempo dopo questo concerto, mentre Rick Danko ci ha lasciato nel 1999. So long, dear friends.

Edito nel settembre del 1969, il secondo album di The Band è considerato da molti il capolavoro del gruppo di Robbie Robertson e Levon Helm. E' fuor di dubbio che già Music From Big Pink era un capolavoro, ma The Band aveva forse qualche cosa in più. Questa nuova versione, rimasterizzata in modo puntiglioso presenta il disco originale, che contiene classici come the Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, Across The Great Divide, Up on Cripple Creek, The Unfaithful Servant e King Harvest. Il CD è arricchito con le sette tracce inedite.
