Oggi lo spirito non è esattamente lo stesso ma il chitarrista Wayne Kramer e il batterista Dennis Thompson, purtroppo da poco scomparsi, fanno ancora un gran baccano e Heavy Lifting risulta un disco più che dignitoso oltre che il testamento sonoro della band di Detroit. Edizione limitata doppia con materiale dal vivo registrato nel corso del tour del 2018.
Rare registrazioni, inedite, fatte nella città natia della band, Detroit. I primi brani sono stati registrati alla Unitarian Church, nell' Agosto 1968, il resto alla Westfield Highschool, nel Gennaio 1969.Edizione limitata a 550 copie, numerate singolarmente, a mano. COLORED VINYL. Pochissime le copie disponibili.
Gli MC5 stanno godendo di una notevole popolarità, molto più vasta rispetto a quando sono esistiti - Eppure Kick Out The Jams aveva creato sensazione, ma non aveva venduto nulla. In questo momento gli MC5 sono considerati una delle band seminali, di grande importanza e sono riveriti come band fondamentale per il movimento punk.Thunder Express documenta i loro primi ed ultimi lavori in studio: sei canzoni registrate in Francia nel 1972 a Studio Castle Herouville per un TV show; mentre altri quattro brani arrivano dai primi due singoli del '66 & '68. Il brano che intitola il CD è esclusivo di questo disco. Contiene un libretto di 12 pagine con note esaustive e foto rare.
