nel collegio di clerval, vicino a orle`ans, il giovane professore di storia e geografia si suicida, lanciandosi dalla finestra della sua classe. a sostituirlo viene chiamato pierre hoffmann che deve subito confrontarsi con gli strani atteggiamenti degli allievi. un gruppo impenetrabile di adolescenti stranamente silenziosi e disciplinati, in cui si insinua una ostilita` diffusa, una sorda violenza che potrebbe esplodere da un momento all`altro. angeli perversi affascinati dalla morte, che coltivano il gusto della crudelta`. una storia di malessere, violenza e angoscia dal finale ineluttabile.
