Era poco più che un bambino quando cominciò a suonare la chitarra e scoprì Freddie King che gli cambiò completamente la prospettiva ed è da quel tempo che Popa Chubby desiderava fare un disco dedicato al suo idolo. Oggi finalmente quel sogno è realtà e più che un disco è una vera e propria celebrazione perché il corpulento chitarrista americano ha invitato accanto a sè molti altri discepoli del Re come Joe Bonamassa, Albert Castiglia, Erci Gales, Christone Kingfish Ingram, Mike Zito, Arthur Neilson e V.D. King per quello che ha tutta l'aria di essre un grandioso festival della chitarra blues.

Dal 2019, Belonging è il primo album del sassofonista americano con il mirabile quartetto composto da Joey Calderazzo al piano, Eric Revis al basso e Justin Faulkner alla batteria, e si tratta di una reinterpretazione integrale, e ovviamente personale, del classico di Keith Jarrett del 1974.
