Carù consigliaLeroy Powell è il chitarrista di Shooter Jennings, suona da anni nella sua band. Ma, al tempo stesso, ha anche lui una sua band, The Messengers. E porta avanti un discorso molto particolare. Infatti mischia riff psichedelici con un particolare stile country, il power country, molto ricco dal punto di vista ritmico. Chitarrista di vaglia, ma anche compositore di peso, Powell è un nuova forza nell'ambito del vero country, quello che non ha nulla a che vedere con la Nashville attuale.
