Full band featured on all tracks except track 4, "I Understand", which is a duet performance with soprano sax and piano. Roger Kellaway plays Fender Rhodes instead of piano on tracks 1 and 5. Zoot Sims plays soprano sax on tracks 4 and 6, and tenor sax on all other tracks.
Recorded in New York City, January 11 & 18, 1956.
Tracks 1 to 8: originally issued as "The Art Of Jazz" LP on Seeco (Cat#: CELP-452) with different artwork in 1956.
Reissued with this artwork on Dawn (Cat#: DLP-1102) also in 1956.
