Molto attivo negli anni novanta, grazie a dischi quali On The Road, Every Night's A Saturday Night, Love Without Mercy, Lee Roy Parnell, We All Get Lucky Sometimes, il sudista Lee Roy Parnell ha pubblicato solo tre dischi nel nuovo millennio e l'ultimo, Back to Well, risale al 2006. Ottimo chitarrista, cantante con forti venature soul e blues, Parnell non ha mai mollato il colpo e la sua musica, sana e vibrante, è un cocktail di rock e blues, southern rock e country. Come conferma questo nuovo album, registrato a Muscle Shoals e sponsorizzato da Barry Beckett, uno dei maestri del suono sudista.

Parnell debutta su Universal South e porta la sua esperienza di rocker, con canzoni venate di blues e filtrate nel southern rock. Un disco che lo allontana dalle sue radici country e propone una decisa sterzata verso il rock. Il miglior southern rock album da vari mesi a questa parte.
