Tra il 1927 e quando si sono separati, 1943, la Carter Family originale ha registrato più di 300 canzoni. A.P. Carter, sua moglie Sara Carter e la prima cugina di Sara, Maybelle Carter sono stati il primo gruppo country ad essere introdotto nella Country Music Hall of Fame..
