Il nuovo album del bizzarro duo Usa, 2011

Terry Adams (keyboards), Scott Ligon (guitar), Pete Donnelly (bass), Conrad Choucroun (drums). Con la nuova formazione, la longeva rock band si presenta con un brillante disco dal vivo, registrato lo scorso anno ( in alcuni brani c'è anche Tom Ardolino, poi scomparso ). Rock, blues, elementi jazz, il tutto mischiato con un suono energico e vitale che mostra che la cult band ha ancora molto da dire.

CD /DVD. Nel 2011 Jimmy Buffett e la Coral Reefer Band hanno fatto due incredibili spettacoli al MGM Grand di Las Vegas. Un palco dove sono passati più o meno tutti i musicisti più importanti. Il meglio di questi due spettacoli è stato catturato su CD e DVD (alcune canzoni cambiano, sui due supporti). Ma non si tratta del solito Live di Buffett, bensì di un concerto tematico che fa eco alla musica di Elvis Presley, pur non dimenticando le radici caraibiche del nostro. Tra le canzoni eseguite Viva Las Vegas, Brown Eyed Girl, Elvis Presley Blues, One Particular Harbor, Juicy Fruit, Fins, Bama Breeze, School Boy Heart etc. Copia non sigillata.

2 DVD / CD. Dopo avere edito le gesta di Mink DeVille al Rockpalast, ecco quelle di Wiilly DeVille, nella medesima trasmissione. Due concerti: 1995, nel periodo di Hey Joe, della musica messicana, del grande successo europeo. L'altro nel 2008, al tempo di Pistola, il suo ultimo disco. DeVille diventa più elegante, gitano, ammiccante. Ma ha sempre una classe infinita. Bella la confezione, ottima la qualità. Copia non sigillata.

Il meglio del periodo Vanguard: 25 canzoni, con diversi brani inediti.

Raro album, da tempo fuori catalogo, edito nel 1980.

Thom Chacon ha esordito, a livello internazionale, nel 2012 con l'album omonimo. Sono passati cinque anni da quel disco e c'era una certa aspettativa. E Blood in The Usa mantiene tutte le promesse e va anche oltre. Un piccolo grande disco da parte di un cantautore che è cresciuto in modo inaspettato. Blood in the Usa è un disco puro, dylaniano, con le radici giuste ed una manciata di canzoni superbe, canzoni che crescono ascolto dopo ascolto. Le radici di Thom sono classiche ( oltre a Dylan, Prine, Cash, Kristofferson, Lucinda Williams ) e le canzoni belle, di una bellezza adamantina. E poi Thom ha anche una bella voce, profonda, espressiva, intensa. Versione con il testo a fronte: inglese e italiano. Da scoprire assolutamente.
