l`argomento del "ciclope" e` la piu` drammatica delle storie narrate da omero nell`odissea, la piu` crudele e dolorosa fra le avventure affrontate da odisseo. la storia dell`incontro con il gigante polifemo, la morte dei compagni dell`eroe divorati dal mostro con una progressiva, disumana "selezione", l`audace e astuta impresa dell`accecamento rivivono sulla scena euripidea in quella sorta di "opera buffa" che e` il dramma satiresco, un tipo di composizione unico nel suo genere e di cui il ciclope e` la sola, preziosa testimonianza pervenuta a noi per intero.
