In actuality, when Mays returned from the army in 1954, a New York public relations man, Ted Worner, thought it would be a good idea to have a song about the player known as the “Say Hey Kid.” So Worner arranged for columnist [a=Dick Kleiner] to write some lyrics and then for [a=Jane Douglass White] create the music and the chorus.
Include brani di Shawn Colvin, Elton john, Annie Lennox, Madonna, Paul Simon, James Taylor e tanti altri.
