All surviving takes of all three Savoy sessions led by Wilbur Harden and including John Coltrane have previously been issued, although this is the first time all have been compiled in the same package. The earliest original-Savoy album also used the name of Tommy Flanagan; two of the partial reissues have jointly featured Coltrane and Harden; a third was under Coltrane only.
