Si tratta di un concerto inedito, scoperto quasi per caso negli immensi archivi della band californiana. Quella sera, al Family Dog, Garcie & Band ( ma il gruppo era sotto il nome di Mickey Hart and His Heartbeats ) si sono esibiti (quasi) acustici. Una sorta di Reckoning più di dieci anni prima. Grandi versioni di classici quali Mama Tried, Me and My Uncle, Cumberland Blues, Candyman, Deep Elem Blues, I Know You Rider, New Speedway Boogie etc. Pubblicato solo via Net, una copia disponibile.
A parte il disco omonimo, registrato in studio, è circolato ben poco della formazione capitanata da John Cipollina. Formazione che John aveva messo assieme dopo avere lasciato i Quicksilver Messenger Service, all'inizio degli anni settanta.La chitarra incredibile di John guida un quartetto dal suono blues psichedelico che non avuto la fortuna che si sarebbe meritata ma che, attraverso queste registrazioni, riesce a dimostrale il proprio valore. Un incredibile collector's item.
CD/ DVD. Il 1980 è l'anno in cui Lee Clayton è venuto in Europa, aveva un contratto per la Capitol e Naked Child era il suo disco del momento. Rock, venato di radici, prima che questo termine esistesse. Rock verace, con le chitarre in primo piano ed una manciata di canzoni solide, suonate con il vento alle spalle. Lee Clayton ha avuto una breve apparizione nella nostra musica, e questo è stato il momento più interessante della sua breve carriera. Non è mai più tornato a questi livelli. Documento imperdibile per chi lo ha amato all'epoca. Il CD ed il DVD hanno la medesima scaletta.
Splendido concerto acustico ( con John Kahn al basso) per Jerry Garcia. Concerto registrato il 5 Maggio 1982, nel penitenziario di stato dell'Oregon. Garcia, che in quel periodo faceva anche concerti acustici, esegue un cocktail gentile ed introspettivo di canzoni dei Dead, brani tradizionali, folk tunes e canzoni sue. Diverso da qualunque altro disco sul mercato, questo concerto propone splendide versioni di brani come Friend of The Devil, Oh Babe Ain't No Lie, Jack-A-Roe, It Takes A Lot To laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry, Ripple, I've Been All Around This Wolrd, Valerie, Dire Wolf e Rubin and Cherise tra le altre. 2 CD. La Marshall Tucker Band, ancora nella formazione originale, catturata dal vivo negli anni settanta. Infatti questo concerto, trasmesso dalla stazione locale di Chicago, WKQX FM, è stato registrato il 5 maggio, 1977. I fratelli Caldwell ancora alla guida della formidabile band sudista, Un concerto completo di oltre un'ora e mezza, a cui sono stati aggiunti altri due brani, registrati però a San Francisco nel 1973. Tra le canzoni, segnaliamo una splendida versione di 24 Hours At A Time ( 16.52 ), Can't You See ( 6.43), Never Trust a Stranger ( 10.44), Take the Highway ( 8.46 ), Fly Like An Eagle / Long Hard Ride, Searchin' For A Rainbow e I Should Have Never Started Lovin' You, tutte superiori ai sette minuti. Copia non sigillata.

36 CD. Splendido cofanetto che presenta il tour mondiale di Bob Dylan & The Hawks (cioè The Band) nel 1966. La tournèe che ha cambiato le regole nel mondo del rock, passando da acustico ad elettrico. La registrazione è profesisonale, curata dallo stesso Dylan o dalla Columbia, con l'eccezione di 5 concerti che sono audience tapes. I concerti erano acustici nella prima parte ed elettrici nella seconda. Interessante anche vedere l'evoluzione del musicista e la sempre maggiore sicurezza della band, data dopo data. Questi concerti hanno cambiato il corso della musica rock, Adesso possiamo capire come. Il cofanetto è corredato da un libretto. Di nuovo disponibile !!!!
Carù consigliaImportatiDopo che gli Allman Brothers si erano sciolti, all'inizio degli anni ottanta, Dickey Betts ha formato una nuova band, chiamando Jimmy Hall ( Wet Willie ) come co-leader ed aggiungendo anche membri degli Allman Brothers come Chuck Leavell, David Goldflies e Butch Trucks. La band, che si chiamava BHLT, è esistita per un periodo abbastanza breve, in tempo però per essere catturata nel Gennaio del 1983 al Coffee Pot di Roanoke, VA. Il suono è Allmaniano con brani di Betts ma anche classici come I Believe to My Soul, Jessica, Ramblin' Man, Southbound, Let Me Ride, One Track Mind, Lorraine etc.

Per commemorare il ventesimo anniversario della pubblicazione di Revival, il famoso debut album di Gillian Welch, la cantautrice e suo marito David Rawlings hanno curato personalmente questa ristampa, andando a fondo negli archivi. Hanno trovato 21 canzoni, tutte versioni inedite, ma con addirittura otto canzoni completamente inedite.Il fatto più importante è che questo materiale, anche le canzoni già note, è radicalmente diverso da quello che già conosciamo. Un disco in purezza, Gillian Welch legata alle tradizioni più pure. In poche parole, una splendida sorpresa.
