2 CD. Eccellente pubblicazione Usa che raccoglie materiale inedito del grande sassofonista jazz. Qui con Richard Davis e Joe Chambers, una superformazione, nel primo CD. Il secondo vede Chambers, Don Friedman e Barre Phillips. Registrato a New York, 1965. Qualità audio eccellente.
Don Cheadle, alla sua prima regia, interpreta la parte di Miles Davis, in un biopic dedicato al jazzista, per celebrare il suo novantesimo compleanno. Questo CD rappresenta la soundtrack con una manciata di classici di Davis ( registrati tra il 1956 ed il 1981). Inoltre il disco contiene qualche dialogo del film e cinque composizioni nuove di Robert Glasper, scritte per la soundtrack. Tra le quali abbiamo What's Wrong With That?, il brano che chiude la pellicola, dove Cheadle recita a fianco di Wayne Shorter e Herbie Hancock ( compagni del trombettista al tempo) oltre che con Glasper, Gary Clark Jr. ed Esperanza Spalding.
Il nuovo lavoro del pianista di colore, con Ben Wolfe e McClenty Hunter. Un classico del jazz in trio con Reed che rilegge il grande Thelonious.
