Un disco decisamente diverso a cui hanno collaborato Ambrose Akinmusire, Sara Caswell, Kurt Elling, Joel Frahm, Mark Guiliana, Gabriel Kahane e Becca Stevens. E' lo stesso Mehldau a speigare il disco: Il progetto Finding Gabriel nasce dopo aver letto intensamente la Bibbia negli ultimi anni. Nei brani risuona la scrittura profetica di Daniele, così come la saggezza del libro di Giobbe e dell’Ecclesiaste, e le parole devozionali dei Salmi. La Bibbia mi è apparsa come una guida per affrontare i tempi difficili in cui viviamo.Un disco indubbiamente diverso, ma anche stimolante, innovantivo e decisamente fuori dal coro.

Brava, quanto affascinante, la pianista cantante di origine brasiliana, ma affermata jazzista a livello mondiale, propone un album in omaggio al genio di Chet Baker. Lo rilegge con il suo raffinato stile bossa nova jazz, aiutata dai fidi Steve Cardenas, Rafael Barata e Victor Lewis, Marivaldo dos Santos e da suo marito, il bassista Marc Johnson. Tra gli ospiti Randy Brecker alla tromba ed il chitarrista Oscar Castro-Neves, considerato una delle figure fondamentali nell'ambito della bossa nova.
